Exterior Repainting in Huntington Woods, MI: 5-Day Wood Repair and Deck Refresh

Project Description

A full exterior repaint changes how a home looks from the street, and this one took five days. This exterior repainting in Huntington Woods, MI, covered the whole house and its decks. The wood on the property needed repair or replacement before we could paint. Painting over weak wood and a new finish has little to hold onto.

Our crew repaired and replaced the wood first, then repainted the house and the decks. The homeowner invested $13,000 for the full scope, and the work wrapped up in 5 days. Visual Paint has completed 500+ projects across Southeast Michigan, so a job like this follows a process we know well.

Project Scope: Exterior Repainting in Huntington Woods, MI

The scope had three parts, and the order mattered. Woodwork came first; paint came second.

Wood Repair and Replacement

Paint doesn’t fix failed wood. So the crew started with the wood. They repaired pieces that could be repaired and replaced pieces that couldn’t. This wood-repair step gives the new paint a solid surface to bond to and keeps small problems from turning into bigger ones later. Painting over weak wood is a common reason a fresh finish fails early, so this step comes before any paint.

House Exterior Repainting

Next came the full repaint of the house exterior. The whole exterior got new paint, not just the spots that showed wear. That gives the house one even finish instead of a mix of old and new sections. Our exterior house painters finished the house within the 5-day timeline. See more about our exterior house painting services in Southeast Michigan.

Deck Repainting

The decks were repainted as well. Decks face foot traffic, sun, rain, and snow, so a worn coating wears out fast. Fresh deck painting protects the wood and keeps the outdoor space ready to use. We also offer deck painting services in Southeast Michigan.

The owners oversee every project. The job ended with a final walkthrough so the homeowner could check the work before we called it done.

Paints & Products Used

Two products went on this house:

Reguvinate
Super Paint Exterior

Michigan exteriors deal with freeze-thaw winters and humid summers. House paint has to hold up outdoors through it all. That is why this project used exterior paints instead of general-purpose products. We chose each product for outdoor durability, which is what a repaint needs. Ask about color, sheen, and product choices at your free estimate, and we will explain what fits your home. The right paint, applied over repaired wood, is what makes exterior repainting in Huntington Woods, MI last.

Why Choose Visual Paint?

A repaint is a big decision. These points are meant to take the risk out of it:

Owners oversee every project, so someone with a real stake in the result checks the details.
You get a detailed quote on the spot, so the price is clear before work starts.
A 1-year workmanship warranty stands behind the work.
Complete cleanup after the project, so your property is left tidy.
Licensed and insured, with screened professionals on the crew.

Result of Exterior Repainting in Huntington Woods, MI

The house now has a complete, consistent exterior. The walls are a deep green with cream trim and window frames, and the decks are painted cream with built-in bench seating. The wood that needed work was repaired or replaced before painting, so the finish sits on sound surfaces from top to bottom.

For the homeowner, the change is easy to see. The exterior no longer needs to be handled one patch at a time. One finish now covers the house and the decks, with the repaired wood underneath it. The crew finished in five days and left the property clean.

The whole job took 5 days for $13,000. If you want exterior repainting in Huntington Woods, MI, with wood repair and deck painting handled in one project, I can walk you through the scope.
